FAQ

  • Do you make your own paper?

Yes. I proudly make all my paper by hand in my papermaking studio based in Yorkshire.

  • What are your turnaround times?

Any paper order from the online Paper Shop is off-the-shelf and usually posted within 1-2 business days. Turnaround time for any trade, custom or letterpress orders will vary depending on workload and season and I will inform you of an up-to-date lead time upon enquiry.

  • Do you offer rush orders?

If I can accommodate within my schedule and workload, I offer a rush service for a fee of £100.

  • Can you create custom colours or sizes of handmade paper?

Yes. I can create coloured paper as closely matched to a Pantone reference as possible. Custom sizes are also a possibility. Both will incur additional fees and will be discussed upon enquiry.

  • Do you accept returns or exchanges?

I will honour returns of paper purchased off-the-shelf from The Paper Shop as long as I am notified within 14 days of receiving the paper. A refund will be given upon receipt of unused and undamaged products. Please email me to discuss your return before sending any products back as this may delay or invalidate your refund. Any bespoke orders are non-refundable unless faulty.

  • Can I see a sample of your paper?

I offer sample packs of various sizes and weights in The Paper Shop.

  • Is your paper suitable for calligraphy?

Yes. My paper has been internally sized to prevent feathering ink. Gum Arabic is recommended for thinner inks. The surface of my papers is velvety and the cotton content is high. If you have trouble with your nib snagging, it has been recommended to treat the paper with a spray sealant prior to calligraphy.

  • Do you offer printing services?

I offer my letterpress printing services on my handmade paper.
