My 30th birthday party
I knew I wanted to do something special for my birthday this year and I wanted it to be fun yet intimate. Being a January baby, I went for the cozy, winter theme. I absolutely love hot cocoa (who doesn't) and being American, I brought in a little camp-side s'mores inside. I did plan to have an outdoor fire pit, but it was *s0* cold, I decided to keep it inside and have a s'more table next to the open fire in my office/studio.
Along with nibbles and mulled wine, I set up a hot cocoa bar with quite a few varieties of hot chocolate complete with hot milk and all the toppings and mix-ins you could want. The s'more table was fireside with instructions for those who had never made one before. They were nearly authentic using graham crackers and huge marshmallows, but for the sake of dear English friends the chocolate was locally sourced. ;)
I decorated the house with fluffy white gypsophila flowers and loads of gorgeous vases and tea light holders, all from my lovely friend Sarah at Leafy Couture (you can hire her gorgeous stuff too!).
And no party is complete without a cheeky game or five! We didn't break out the board games this time, but my super sweet husband planned a quiz where everyone went around the house looking at photos of me from various stages of life to guess my age. Some where quite embarrassing! It was all great fun though and it seems I look the same as I did when I was 12, winner!
I'm so happy to share the photos (and video) below with you who were taken shot by my talented friends Naomi and Ben atThe Little Things Picture House.
